The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization with a focus on preserving American history, promoting patriotism, and better education for children. In addition to monthly meetings, and outings throughout the year, the Kaskaskia Chapter offers assistance to anyone interested in tracing her roots to a patriot of the Revolutionary War.
Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. You do not need to complete an application worksheet before attending a chapter meeting. You do not even need to have identified your patriot ancestor. By attending a local chapter meeting, you will meet DAR members who have the experience to assist you in obtaining your goal of DAR membership.
Find useful tips about tracing your lineage, identifying your patriot ancestor, and the application process, through the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution or contact us here at Kaskaskia and we will direct you to the chapter registrar who can help you on your way.
